The Good Things in Life....: New Hampster

We made the long trek to New Hampster (as Emily refers to it) this week! It was gorgeous and lots of fun, but is a pretty long drive for little and big people ( I hate driving!) We decided not to tent as we couldn't be sure of the weather. So I managed to score this great little deal (insert sarcasm)-a rustic cabin in the woods...you can only get there by footbridge, followed by a nice walk thru the woods...cabin has running water, but no electrcity and no facilites, just an outhouse, which was a slight walk (thru more woods) from our cabin.

OK its redeeming qualities were that it did have 3 beds with matresses, that were pretty comfy, a fridge, and had a gorgeous little secluded deck that overlooked a lake. So in the daytime and in the daylight all was well, but when the lights went down...look out...hello cabin of horrors! OMG...the first night we had racoons picking at our door all night long, night #2 we had rodents rooting thru our kitchen...seriously and night #3 we don't know who visited because we drank enough to make ourselves not hear a thing! What an adventure!

We did however manage to have some fun...we took in Storeyland for a day and the kids loved it and on day two we did some hiking, swimming and canoeing around the campground before taking a few hours to shop!!
